The Dickson County Chamber AgriTourism Tourism Committee held the 2nd Farm to Fork on the Charlotte Square in Charlotte on Sept. 21 following the Charlotte Festival.
This event was to showcase Dickson County and all those involved in local agriculture. All proceeds will go towards agritourism outreach and education in Dickson County. That outreach Ag Pavilion or projects, $2,000 in Ag scholarship given each year, farm tours and awards banquets etc.
This year’s Farm to Fork activities included entertainment by Band Angelica and A Dance in Time Dancers.
The Farm to Fork Picnic started with appetizers by Smoke n Willie’s to 350 attendees. Dickson County High School and Creek Wood High School Future Farmers of America students served the meal.
The red and white gingham checked tablecloths were lined with decorations of greenery and lanterns.
The family-style meal started with fresh sliced tomatoes, onions and cucumber salad, followed by biscuits with strawberry and peach butter and fried chicken from Montgomery Bell. Charlotte’s Patti Duke prepared the mashed potatoes, green beans and fresh fried corn.
Charlotte’s Patsy Caldwell made the banana pudding for dessert.
