Dickson County Schools' Nutrition Program will be offering free breakfast and lunch during the upcoming Fall Break. Meals are free to anyone 18 or younger. Distribution sites will be Charlotte Middle, Vanleer Elementary, Dickson Middle and William James Middle.  Hours will be from 10 a.m. until Noon.

Tennessee State Parks’ Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee will be held through Sept. 30 and will be a virtual event this year. Riders can log their miles on lovetoride.net as part of the Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee Cycling Club. The goal is for participants to ride 688 miles, the distance from Bristol to Memphis. Participants can log their miles any way they choose, including road cycling, indoor cycling, gravel or mountain biking. The cost to participate is $150. All participants will receive access to trusted routes at multiple Tennessee State Parks and a 2020 BRAT jersey and T-shirt. The Dickson County Amateur (Ham) Radio Club will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Emergency Operations Center Training Room at 284 Cowan Rd. in Dickson. Meeting will be rescheduled if “UNDER WEATHER WARNING”. It is open to all hams and those wanting to become ham radio operators. For information call (615) 483-9783 or contact www.wc4dc.org.

 

Grief support group will be held Oct. 17, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31 from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Dickson County Family YMCA Chapel Room at 225 Henslee Dr. The group is open to anyone who wants to attend and is a free service provided by Taylor Funeral Home. Tennessee City Fire Department 33rd Annual Fish Fry will be held Saturday, Oct. 17 at noon at department located at 4605 Highway 70 West in Dickson. Meals are carryout only and include catfish filets, fries, slaw white beans and hushpuppies. Cost is donations. For information call (615) 446-0639.
