The Porter Community Center will be having a bar-b-que chicken dinner on Saturday, June 20 starting at noon at 1600 Abiff Rd. in Bon Aqua. Plates will be available for dining in or to go. All proceeds go towards the upkeep of the community center.


The 2nd Annual Miss & Mister Firecracker All-Crown Pageant will be held Sunday, June 28 at 115 Tennsco Rd. in Dickson. The pageant will be benefiting The Wounded Warrior Project.

Averitte Cemetery will not be having a regular graveyard cleaning this year due to COVID19.  Donations can be made at Vanleer Bank in care of Tennie Mae Williams.

TN Achieves is recruiting volunteer mentors to provide a local support system to every TN Promise applicant in the Class of 2021. Mentors work with a small group of three to seven students as they transition from high school to college. Mentors complete a training course in person or online. The Gideon Carr Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution meets on the fourth Saturday of each month at the Education Building of the First Presbyterian Church, located on the corner of Murrell and Mulberry Streets, at 10:00 a.m. All women above the age of 18 who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution are eligible for membership.
