The Child Advocacy Center in Dickson requests donations of toys to provide to victims of child abuse. Toy donations can be made at the CAC at 604 Spring St. in Charlotte on Mondays-Thursdays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

A Grief Support Group for families and friends whose loved ones have died will be held June 1-22 for four consecutive Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel Room of the Dickson County YMCA, 225 Henslee Dr. The group is open to anyone who wants to attend and is a free service offered by Taylor Funeral Home as a part of the After Care Program.  The sessions are facilitated by Mary Simmons, Bereavement Facilitator. Sons of American Revolution Christopher Strong Chapter will have its next meeting on Thursday, June 6 at 6 p.m. the Ponderosa restaurant, 115 Henslee Dr. in Dickson. Judge Tommy Woodall is the scheduled guest speaker. His topic will be former President James Madison.

Dickson Senior Center Health Fair will be held Friday, June 7 from 8-11 a.m. at the Senior Center, 206 W. Walnut St. in Dickson. There will be vision tests, hearing tests, blood pressure tests, balance tests, fitness assessments, medication check and memory screenings.


Dickson County High School Band Boosters Car and Bike Show will be held Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the high school parking lot. There is no entry fee, but donations will be accepted. The Dickson County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet on Monday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum, 100 Frank Clement Place in Dickson. The speaker will be Eric Jacobson, who is heading up the developments at Carnton, the Carter House and the cotton gin area in Franklin.
