Grief support group will be held each Saturday in September and Oct. 17, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31 from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Dickson County Family YMCA Chapel Room at 225 Henslee Dr. The group is open to anyone who wants to attend and is a free service provided by Taylor Funeral Home. MatchPoint Youth After School Tennis Program will be held each Thursday in September at Tennsco Courts, corner of Highway 47 and Tennsco Drive, for players ages 7-18 of beginner and intermediate skill levels. Fundamentals and rules of play will be taught. Loaner racquets and tennis balls will be provided. Signups will be held at Tennsco Courts the day of play. Dickson Cumberland Presbyterian Church Women’s Ministry Annual Fall Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. BBQ chicken plates ($10), child's chicken plate ($5) and hot dog plate ($4) will be available.  Whole chickens will be $10 (no side items).  There will also be a silent auction and bake sale.  All funds received will be used to support the women’s ministry.

Tennessee State Parks’ Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee will be held through Sept. 30 and will be a virtual event this year. Riders can log their miles on as part of the Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee Cycling Club. The goal is for participants to ride 688 miles, the distance from Bristol to Memphis. Participants can log their miles any way they choose, including road cycling, indoor cycling, gravel or mountain biking. The cost to participate is $150. All participants will receive access to trusted routes at multiple Tennessee State Parks and a 2020 BRAT jersey and T-shirt. Riders can register at


The Gideon Carr Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution meets on the fourth Saturday of each month at the Education Building of the First Presbyterian Church, located on the corner of Murrell and Mulberry Streets, at 10:00 a.m. All women above the age of 18 who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership.
