Dickson County will be hosting the Official Miss Tennessee/Miss America preliminary Scholarship Competition on March 23 at Creek Wood High School.

This competition is open to young ladies, ages 17-24, who reside in Dickson and surrounding counties. This is the first time in many years that Dickson County has had the opportunity to be represented at the Miss Tennessee State Finals, which will be held in June.

Registration and orientation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Miss Amy’s School of the Arts, 209 Henslee Dr. in Dickson at 6 pm. All potential contestants for Miss Dickson County and Dickson County Princess (ages 10-12) are encouraged to attend.

“For over 30 years, I have been blessed to share my knowledge and passion for the arts with young ladies from our diverse and growing community,” said Amy Pilkinton, the new director of the Official Miss Dickson County and Miss Outstanding Teen competitions. “Seeing and feeling the empowerment and confidence so many of these young women gain as they blossom with skills of expression, fitness, coordination, and friendship is one of the most rewarding experiences I wish everyone could have. Participants will have the opportunity to win scholarships for advanced education, and to establish a platform to promote ideas and programs that can have profound positive impacts on our community and the world.”
