A body was recovered in the debris of a mobile home used for storage that burned down in Tennessee City, according to Capt. Randy Starkey of the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office.
“We are investigating a fire that destroyed a mobile home that was being used for storage,” Starkey said in an email Thursday. “A body was located in the debris of the mobile home.”
It was not immediately clear whether the fire caused the death, and the body was not immediately identified.
Starkey said the body was removed and transported to the medical examiner’s office in Nashville. He said the cause of the fire and the death are under investigation.
The fire was on Burgess Road, off Yellow Creek Road west of Dickson, on Wednesday.
Starkey said the Tennessee City Volunteer Fire Department, Dickson County Fire & Rescue, Dickson EMS and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation assisted in the response.
