The 97th Dickson County Fair is scheduled to open at the Dickson County Fairgrounds on Monday, Sept. 6 and go to Saturday, Sept. 11.
The Mister and Miss Tiny Fairest of the Fair Pageants are set for Sunday, Sept. 5.
According to Dickson County Fair Association President Steve Manley, the Fair will include motorsports events, beauty pageants, livestock shows, agricultural and horticultural displays, carnival rides, food, a singing competition, and music provided by the band Yesterday’s Country, both in the open-air pavilion.
Manley said he expects between 20,000-25,000 attendees over the six days.
The Dickson County UT Extension Office handles all of the home economics and 4-H youth elements of the fair.
Manley said the fair association will watch COVID-19 trends and mandates, but there are no mask or other virus-related requirements for fairgoers. The Dickson County Fair was held last year while many counties in Middle Tennessee cancelled their fair.
Some additions to this year’s event include moving the home economics displays to the Chandler Building, the Jump ‘N Run motorsports event held on a scaled-down motocross track, and the Mrs. Dickson County Fairest of the Fair Pageant, which is open to any married woman residing in Dickson County.
