The Dickson County Fair received the Premier Award for best overall fair in the AA division at the 2019 Tennessee Association of Fairs Convention awards ceremony last weekend in Murfreesboro.
It was the first Premier Award for the Dickson County event, which was held last Sept. 2-7. Approximately 23,000 attended the week-long fair. Fairs in Tennessee are judged in divisions based on population with the A division being the smallest, and judges consider factors like agriculture shows, events, rides and improvements.
The Dickson County Fair also received a Merit Award from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and a third-place award in the Fair Hat competition.
Dickson County Fair Board President Steve Manley said that the awards are a great honor and that he would like to thank the Dickson County residents for helping to make the fair a success.
The 2020 Dickson County Fair will be held Sept. 7-12.
