A jury has convicted a Dickson man of raping a child.
William Vess Binkley, 35, was found guilty Sept. 24 in a one-day trial in Charlotte, with Dickson County Circuit Judge David Wolfe presiding.
Binkley was convicted of a rape category under Tennessee law in which the victim was under the age of 13 at the time the offense was committed.
Binkley was remanded into Dickson Sheriff’s Office custody after the verdict. Sentencing is set for Oct. 28.
A grand jury indicted Binkley in April 2018 based on an investigation by the sheriff’s office.
Court documents show a Dickson address for Binkley at the time of his arrest. The address is outside the city limits and so the case was handled by the sheriff’s office.
