A fire Tuesday destroyed a house at 136 Blue Moon Rd. in Dickson, said Rob Fisher, director of the Dickson County Emergency Management Agency.
Firefighters got the call at 11:54 a.m. The house, off Highway 46 south of Interstate 40, was already fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived, he said.
The house was occupied when the fire started, and everyone including pets got out safely, Fisher said. Smoke alarms alerted the residents, he said.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation. Fisher said it apparently started in the garage. The value of the house and its destroyed contents were still being assessed.
The heat from the fire melted siding on a neighboring house, and firefighters hosed it down to prevent further damage, Fisher said. That house remained habitable.
