A former Dickson County corrections officer was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 20 and charged with child rape and aggravated sexual battery, according to court documents.
Thomas Mayo, 38, worked with the sheriff’s office as a correction’s deputy from 2005 until 2008, according to county records. He was fired for bringing contraband into the jail, Chief Deputy Jeron Holt said.
Mayo was indicted for the two charges by the Dickson County Grand Jury during its August session. He was charged with sexually assaulting and raping a child less than 13 years old, according to court documents.
Both alleged crimes took place between October 2013 and June 2014, according to court documents.
Mayo was released later that day after posting a bond of $25,000.
