The wife of a Dickson man convicted last month of murdering his son will face trial for aggravated child neglect next February.

Krystal Daniels appeared in Dickson County court Monday. Her attorney, the district attorney and Dickson County Circuit Judge David Wolfe discussed potential trial dates and options for the jury.

While the details are not finalized, jury selection is scheduled to begin in Stewart County on Feb. 1, 2022. If the jury is not sequestered, it will be transported from Stewart County to Charlotte every day of the trial.

Daniels’ attorney, Michael Flanagan, requested that double the usual number of jurors be called.

Daniels’ next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 14, the same day as the sentencing hearing for her husband, Joseph Daniels, is scheduled to be held. Joseph Daniels was convicted of second-degree murder and other charges last month.

Wolfe ruled last April to separate the trials for Joseph Daniels and Krystal Daniels.

The Daniels’ 5-year-old son Joe Clyde Daniels was reported missing in 2018. No body was ever found.
