A January trial date has been set for a Dickson man charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of his son.
Billy Randall Clifft, 53, has pleaded not guilty in the death of Christopher Clifft, 26, according to Dickson County Circuit Court records.
Clifft faces trial Jan. 24, with a date of Jan. 3 set for a possible plea deal. He was indicted by a grand jury in August and entered the not-guilty plea in September.
The stabbing death occurred May 9 in the home the Cliffts shared at the Brookview Apartments on McLemore Street, according to a statement from the city of Dickson.
The report from the Dickson Police Department won’t be released while the prosecution is ongoing, the city said.
Clifft was booked into Dickson County Jail after being arrested in May. He was released in June after posting bond, which was set at $50,000.
