After 59 days in the hospital fighting COVID-19, Steven Tuberville, the one they call “Fat Pappy”, returned to his Vanleer home last week.

Tuberville started his hospital journey at Tri-Star Horizon Medical Center in Dickson and then was transferred to TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was again transferred to Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville before being released to return home.

Tuberville still has quite a few steps to complete his recovery. He will receive healthcare at his home to get him stronger and he also will continue to follow up with his pulmonologist.

“We are so blessed that dad was able to come home a survivor of COVID-19,” his daughter, Stephanie Tuberville, said. “It’s been a long journey and while it’s far from over, we are simply thankful he’s home. We would like to thank everyone who has reached out to our family and has been praying for us.”

Tuberville received a homecoming party from family and friends, many of whom stood along the highway as he drove past them on the way back to Vanleer.
