Joe Thomas Street, age 78 of Dickson, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He had nothing but love in his heart. He asked to be removed from oxygen and refused the respirator, as he asked the doctor to call his family and tell them he loved them, then he let go.

Joe was born on May 8, 1942 in Hickman County to the late James T. Street (who died in World War II) and Hazel Spicer Dugan. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He has left a hole in our hearts that can only be filled in the course of time with our loving memories of times spent together. “Sweet passage, my love”.

In addition to his biological father and mother, he was preceded in death by his father, O.B. Dugan.

Survivors include is wife of over 50 years, Gail Vaughn Street of Dickson; his son Chase Street; his furry canine best friend, Holly; brothers, Michael Dugan (Loma) of Kingston Springs, and Mitchell Dugan (Lynn) of Dickson; sisters, Donna Schlimmer (Tony) of Kingston Springs and Julia Hagewood of Florida; sister-in-law Shirril Dugan of Burns; friends, Cliff and Linda Parrish of Burns; as well as several nieces and nephews, and many more veteran friends.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, January 9, at 1 p.m. at the Dugan Cemetery in Dickson, TN. There will be no public visitation and MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED at the cemetery.
