Thomas William Story, of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the age of 86. He died peacefully in his home alongside his beloved family. He was born January 21, 1934 in Dickson County to Annie Ezell and Thomas Marion Story.
He was an avid farmer, raising tobacco and cattle for his entire life. He was a retired school bus driver after 35 years. He was on the Board of Directors at Farm Bureau for many years. He also worked for FSA measuring tobacco, later joining their Board of Directors as well. He served in The United States Armed Forces during the Korean War.
He was married to the love of his life, Jane Wall Story for 63 years. He was a lifelong member of Friendship Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Marion & Annie Ezell Story; five sisters and their spouses: Wilma Lee Love (Raymond), Mary Cee Glasgow (Curtis), Gerlene Holley (Marvin), Willie Mae Deloach (Noah), and Claytie Jo Story.
Survived by his wife Jane Wall Story; son Thomas Ralph Story (Debbie); daughter Phyllis Diane Finney (Donnie); grandchildren, Deanna Story, Caleb Story, Jessica Stiles (Joey), Rachel Finney (Coby Roberts); great-grandchildren, Allexus, Alex, Marleigh Jo, and Jacob Stiles, River Mae Roberts; great-great grandchild Jahre Stiles; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, January 16, at the Spann Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 16, from the Chapel of the Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Blake Douthit officiating. Interment in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Family requests all in attendance to please wear a mask.
