Last week, the Rodeo came to Dickson, as it usually does around this time of year, and thousands of people came from the area to watch and compete.

Contest events included bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, cowgirl’s breakaway roping, steer wrestling, team roping, cowgirl’s barrel racing and bull riding.

There were also some new attractions added to the event, as the children’s gold rush was held for children 10 and younger 30 minutes before each performance, as well as best-dressed cowboy and cowgirl contests for those 10 and younger, to go along with rodeo clown Mighty Mike Wentworth and death-defying chuckwagon races.
