HENDERSONVILLE – The Creek Wood boys bowling team traveled to Hendersonville twice last week to finish off the regular season, and they defeated East Robertson 26-1 and Greenbrier 21-6.

The Red Hawks went undefeated in the regular season for the first time in program history.

Against East Robertson,  the Red Hawks came out firing. Hunter Woodard led with a 218 and Wyatt Daniel, a talented freshman, bowled a 200. Justin Reyes added a 183. Creek Wood took an 8-0 advantage after game one.

The second game brought more of the same, as Creek Wood also won 8-0. Reyes led the Red Hawks with a 213. Zach Waller bowled a 187, and Logan Aulidge added a 180 to cushion the lead.

The final game saw a few substitutions for Creek Wood, which already had the win in hand. Waller stayed in the game and bowled a team-high 235, while first-year bowler Bailey Vandergrift shot a 192. Another first-year bowler, Jackson Martin, finished with a 182.

With a perfect 10-0 record, the Red Hawks bowling team will now have the advantage of hosting the district tournament. The Creek Wood teams bowl their home matches at Bowl-O-Rena in Dickson, and rarely do visiting teams have as much success as the Red Hawks.

While the Lady Red Hawks have enjoyed some success in the postseason the last few years with a state finals appearance, the boys haven’t had as much success. The furthest the Red Hawks have ever advanced is the second round of region play.

Creek Wood’s boys bowling team will look to surpass that this season and possibly punch their ticket to the first state tournament in Red Hawk history.
