DICKSON – Creek Wood’s bowling season began Monday with a home victory over
Dickson County for both the Red Hawks and Lady Red Hawks.
The Creek Wood boys team defeated Dickson 20-7 while leading in pin fall 3,230 to
3,077. The Lady Red Hawks defeated Dickson 22-5 while leading in pin fall 2,624 to
In game one of the boys game, Zach Waller led Creek Wood with a 209 while Hunter
Woodard scored a 188. Lucas Anderson also won his point with a 178. Dickson’s
Dusty Malone won his point with a 187 while Tucker Purvine rolled a 157.
Game two of the boys game saw Waller roll a 237 while Anderson added a 233 – his
personal high score in a match – for Creek Wood while Drake Tidwell (214), Tucker
Purvine (232) and Alex Madden (204) all scored well for Dickson.
Game three brought a little pressure from Dickson as Drake Tidwell continued his
success with a 237 and Dusty Malone rolled a 190. Creek Wood was able to hold off
the Cougars with a 208 from Garrett Chandler and a 229 game from Logan Aulidge.
Zach Waller finished off his strong evening for Creek Wood with a 215, totaling a
661 series and setting up Waller at the top of the district after the first match with a
The Creek Wood Lady Red Hawks got off to a slow start, but were able to hold off
Dickson in game one as Katie Rye (173) and Kennedy Taylor (161) helped secure
the game one win. Lacy Murphy bowled a 187 for Dickson and was their high score
for the match.
Game two for the girls brought a full sweep for Creek Wood as they took all six
individual points and the two overall pins points, as well, with a 201 from Hailey
Wright and a 178 from Jase Jackson. Dickson’s Lacy Murphy, again, was the high
score with a 156. Morgan Malone bowled well with a 146 for Dickson in game two,
In the final game of the girls match, Creek Wood subbed in a good portion of the
younger athletes to get them a few games as Shelby Mitchell (150) and Keely
Freeman (156) both bowled well. For Dickson, Murphy (153) and Malone (138)
were again the top two scorers.
