MURFREESBORO – Jase Jackson’s fifth inning home run got the Creek Wood offense out of the rut they had been in as Samantha England and Maddy Pullum brought in runs in the top of the sixth inning with an RBI single each to give Creek Wood the 3-2 win over Gibbs.

Gibbs, the same team that had eliminated Creek Wood last season, had sights set on doing that once again but just couldn’t quite get their bats going against Lennon Spicer. Spicer allowed only two hits; the first was a two-RBI triple to score the first two runs of the game for either team and the second gave Gibbs their last hope in the bottom of the seventh but Spicer was able to retire the side to advance.

With the win, Creek Wood will advance to play Sequatchie County at 4:00 p.m. later on today. That game will also be an elimination game.
