Trevonn Rybka

Dickson County High School rising senior Trevonn Rybka has gotten interest from some of the top college football programs in the country.

DICKSON – Not many four-star defensive ends, or four-star players at any position for that matter, come through Dickson too often, but Dickson County High School’s Trevonn Rybka has earned that designation and is drawing interest from some of the best football programs in the country like Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Oregon, Kentucky and Arkansas. As a result, Rybka has had the opportunity to meet a few big-name coaches along the way, including Nick Saban, Tee Martin, Jeremy Pruitt, Mark Stoops and Joe Salave’a.

“It’s been great,” Rybka said. “It’s a once in a lifetime experience. It’s always been a huge dream for me. I love it and I have to enjoy it while I can.”

Rybka said he has put in the effort to get to this point, but that he will need to continue to push himself to realize his dreams.

“It’s always been possible, hard work pays off,” Rybka said. “My athletic ability is there, but you can only play with that so long, so I just have to continue to improve my technique and craft.”

There is one program that Rybka said he hasn’t heard from -- Ohio State. He said he would love to see Ryan Day, the Buckeyes head coach, offer him a scholarship, but that doesn’t mean he’d take it. With the entire college football world seemingly at his fingertips, Rybka will have plenty of teams to choose from and time to make the decision. The early signing day for football is Dec. 18, 2019 and the regular signing day is Feb. 5, 2020.
