The Dickson Middle School cross-country teams competed at the TMSAA state championships Oct. 4 at Clarksville's Weakley Park.

Competing against the best runners in the state, the girls team finished a respectable ninth place while the boys placed 13th.

"I was very happy with our team effort to finish the season. We talked a lot about making this the best race of the year. This was an awesome group of kids to coach and be around every day at practice,” said Eric Hickerson, Dickson Middle School cross-country coach.

The highlight of the day certainly belonged to teammate Sarah Potter as she ran away from the field and secured her second state championship in as many years. She will look to repeat again next year.
