The Downtown Dickson Association, along with the City of Dickson, set off the city’s Christmas celebration last Saturday night with “Christmas Downtown,” which included the city’s annual tree lighting event at Tom Waychoff Memorial Park. Mayor Don Weiss Jr. officiated at the tree lighting. The downtown Dickson celebration, according to Downtown Dickson Association president and Zander’s Woodfired Pizza owner Esther Wood, has been a Christmas tradition for at least 25 years. The event included the tree lighting, carriage rides around downtown, train rides, live music and a live Nativity scene.
